One key to success in business and in life is becoming as memorable as possible.

Here are five ways to do that in a single meeting.

Five Ways to Be More Memorable

1. Introduce yourself to others.

In every situation, act like you are the host. Never allow anyone to stand on the sidelines waiting for someone to approach them. YOU go talk to them.

2. Remember people’s names.

Repeat their names once or twice in the first few exchanges you have with them to cement that name in your brain. Remember, Dale Carnegie said, “The sweetest sound to anyone is their own name.”

3. Pay full attention to everyone you meet.

Nothing makes an individual feel as important as having your undivided attention.

4. Use positive body language.

Think of the word, SOFTEN: Smile, Open posture, Forward lean, Their territory (stay out), Eye contact, Nod to show understanding.

5. Compliment others sincerely.

Comment people on what they are wearing, doing, or saying.
