Business Book Review

This month Pamela Chatry reviews:

‘Einstein’s Business, Engaging Soul, Imagination, and Excellence in the Workplace’

Edited by Dawson Church &

Associate Editor and Contributing Author is Isabelle St. Jean,

Publisher, Elite books, Santa Rosa, Cal.

Recently, I was very excited to learn from Isabelle St. Jean that her book project had finally been launched.  I have known Isabelle, both as a business client and friend.  A couple of years ago, she fortuitously ran into Dawson Church at a conference and presented him with the concept of a book about the “expanding consciousness in business and finding solutions to seemingly impossible challenges.”  She wanted to publish a book where, “ The guiding principles for the book are derived from the inspiring, timeless wisdom of Albert Einstein.” Dawson leapt upon the idea and as they say, the rest is history.

Opening ‘Einstein’s Business’ for the first time is a little like Christmas morning.  There are so many gifts!  Each chapter is written by many names you will recognize such as Peter Senge, Stephen Covey, Robert Kiyosaki, Oprah Winfrey, Donald Trump, Faith Popcorn and Lynne Twist.

However, the shared wisdom in this book is not limited to the famous. Many of us have never heard of Jeanne House, Mari Tessler, and Madeline C. Gerwick.  I experienced such pleasure in reading works of art by some amazing, yet unfamiliar talent.

Isabelle shares her own brilliance with us, both in the Introduction and in a chapter in the book.  Both pieces are like Isabelle; inclusive and yet colorful, insightful, and yet challenging the conventional.

I loved this business book!  While it can be a very deep read, it is never dull and always challenges the cerebral.  The anthology of writers is ideal for the busy woman as you can take one chapter at a time and not feel pressured to move through the book in a hurry.

If you read one business book this year, make it this one.  As the quote from Albert Einstein says, “Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.  The important thing is not to stop questioning.”

If you are interested in purchasing a copy of the book, it is available through Chapters or directly from Isabelle.  If you purchase from her, you will be helping her help a Balinese friend obtain higher education as she is donating proceeds from the book sale.  You can reach Isabelle at:
