Five Steps to Greater Enthusiasm

People often comment on the fact that I’ve got a lot of enthusiasm. They ask how I wake up every day inspired about what’s happening in my life. My response: “As far as I know this is the only life on earth that I’m going to live, so I’m taking advantage of every morsel.”
If you’d like to ratchet up your enthusiasm, here are five ways to do it.
Five Steps to Greater Enthusiasm
1. Spend time with enthusiastic people.
It’s been proven that you become like the five people with whom you spend the most time. So, why would you spend your day with dull, boring (or even negative) people? Seek out energetic, creative, clever people, and spend as much time as possible with them.
2. Steal ideas from the most enthusiastic person you know.
Think of the most enthusiastic person you know and ask them about the sources of their enthusiasm. Then practice those actions daily.
3. Get motivated.
Read motivational books. Listen to inspirational CDs. Create an Inspiration Board on Pinterest.
4. Try pumping up your volume.
If you’re calm and reserved by nature, discover something that is important to you and get “fired-up” about it.
5. Create a culture of enthusiasm.
Be on the lookout for others who are enthusiastic. Recognize and thank them for their enthusiasm. Create a growing culture of enthusiasm around you.
